It has been long since I went to any Auditorium or Theater to watch a movie, as my daughter would definitely dont let us idle at some place for more than 5 minutes forget 2 hours..
I just asked my husband, if there is any good movie in our collection, which I have not seen, he said, ya, you can watch Arundati.. Telugu.. I asked does it have subtitles, he said NO.. then I said, oh No then..
Then he said you can see A Wednesday.. as my daughter was sleeping I just watched it with headphone. well its too good. Characters are so Active, No songs.. Needless to comment on Anupam Kher, Nasiruddeen Shah ..they are at their best as always..and others are good too.
I dont want to tell more, If you are looking for some good Direction, Story which only wise people can write and understand.. this is the movie for you :-))
YSR might be a well known person to the whole of Andhra Pradesh, but nation is knowing his worth only now. This is what happens always, we will be having living legends around us, and would know of him or her, only after losing them.
Now all the news and media talk about his initiatives to help the poor. How he was termed people’s man. why don’t they do that when the person is alive. It will be moral booster, a true tribute, to the living soul. Often in India, Bharat Ratna and other honors are given after the death of a person, but all these appreciation and award should be given to people, when they are alive and energetic. That way they can do more, others are motivated to follow their footsteps.
On the birthdays of super stars we will have their success stories, all challenges they faced, their films, songs etc etc aired on all TV Channels, but this does not happen with other good politicians, Police officers, or IAS officers, and other Artists. why is it so?
when will have programs like this commissioner turned 50 and his achievements, when will be celebrate the birthdays of great teachers, Social workers, Business men etc?
And its really good the way cable operators removed all other channels except news channels in showing respect to the departed soul.
If they do not air any advertisements during these news events, then it will be a humane way to react to the demise of people’s minister.
1. Chana dal – 1 cup
2. Moong dal – 1 cup
3. Coconut grated – 1 cup
4. Jaggery – 1 cup
5. Til – 1/2 cup
These are the main 5 ingredients, on which it has derived the word Pancha Kajjaaya. In addition you can use Ghee and Cardomom powder which will enhance the taste.
Method of Preparation
Dry roast chana dal and moong dal. Powder it using mixer once it is cool. Take a thick bottomed pan or cooking bowl. Heat the jaggery, add little water and once the jaggery is in the form of batter, and starts boiling add the powdered chana dal, moong dal, grated coconut, Til, Ghee, Cardomam powder and mix well. If you can make it into balls as shown in picture you can do it. else if you feel its hard, leave it as it is, that is also good.
Now the Pancha kajjaaya is ready to offer to the Lord Ganesha.

The subject Relationship Marketing is some thing which must and should be studied by all Marketing people. But when I was asked to Handle Relationship Management as Faculty/Trainer, all I could do was build cases and examples based on my experience. Because all my effort to search the right and relevant book went in vain. Because everytime I ended getting books and articles on CRM, which focussed more on CRM Tools, rather than any Relationship Building and maintaining skills. I did get one or two chapters on this topic in few books. But Bravo!! This book came by courier to me, after I left the job of Trainer.. But better late than never, this is the book I wanted.
This book deals with all the important aspects of Relationship Marketing. Customer Acquisition strategies, Customer Retention Strategies, Loyalty, LCV ( Lifetime Customer value), CRM, and Learning Organisation are the major chapters covered.
The good thing about the book is – This is the only book I found in category of Relationship Marketing. Its simple to read. It has good coverage of topics. Right one for all those in Managment field, whether Teachers, Students or Managers.

Few days back CNN-IBN interviewed some ministers of Karnataka and said, even Chief Minister’s Grandchildren go to English School, where as Government is imposing Medium of instruction as Kannada to all Primary education.
Now no doubt a child will grasp everything quickly if taught in his or her mother tongue. But how does it take them. In Karnataka at the max a person can study till 10th in Kannada medium. After that very few government institutes offer 11th 12th in Kannada medium. What if that student gets into an engineering or medical institute, can he have medium of instruction in kannada. If not atleast text books in kannada? NO. Why Kannada I am sure none of the states in India would be offering Science related subjects in any Indian language. Thus instead of struggling at a higher level its better to be more familiar and comfortable with english from the very beginning.
But if we would like to see more and more scientists from India being seen in the list of Inventors, then we need to have complete education system in Indian Languages. The ease with which Indian kids pronounce Indian words, let it be Hindi, Kannada or Oriya, that fluency does not come by birth for the foreign language. My daughter finds it easier to tell Bendekaayi, Bhindi rather than Ladies Finger!!
So its high time Government instead of forcing children to study in Kannada, takes steps to Translate all course materials to Kannada and starts at least one college in each category in Kannada medium. Then with no effort Kannada medium schools or Schools that offer education in a Child’s Mother toungue will be in demand.Read More »
Its more than a month since we shifted from Bangalore to Hyderabad. For the first time in my life I am experiencing the awkwardness of not knowing local language!! More so because of my small daughter. Otherwise may be I would’t have minded much. Somehow I would have survived with English, Hindi and little bit of Telugu. Now its more important to learn the language because you need to help your child learn the language so that she can interact easily with others.
And I feel it will be the same way with outsiders in Karnataka, so may be I need to put one blog with simple words and sentences so that outsiders can learn and use while interacting with those who know only kannada. But still somehow I am of the impression that in Bangalore right from Vegetable Vendor, House maid to Auto Drivers.. they speak hindi or english.. So not much of difficulty. Only non kannadigaas can tell me, if I am right.
Apart from language things I liked in Hyderabad or some of the places worth visiting. Shilparaamam of Shilpakalavedike is really too good. A must visit for all who love handicrafts, village atmosphere, classical music and good food. Interestingly I hail from Mysore and I asked in the canteen ‘what is that?’ and reply was its Mysore Bajji!! well 🙂
There is a bullock cart ride for 5/- per head!!.. A village model with people made of mud who really look like real people. My daughter was almost scared looking at those motionless people. Jalagam park is good one for all those who love parks. And for kids. Lumbini garden is also good. Ofcourse its a again a must visit place, as you can go and see the Budda’s statue.
Zoo is pretty big compared to Mysore zoo. But still for seeing animals Mysore zoo is good, as you dont have to walk so much. But still this looks like a favourite picnic spot for many.
Why I liked Hyderabad so much, and enjoying life is because all these places though very far from where I stay are still reachable!! In bangalore you think of traffic and never feel like going out of home. And in bangalore all the places are meant for shelling out your money.. than to enjoy nature.. expect few parks like lalbagh.. where you cannot definitly expect 2 years kids to play..
Today I wanted to do something simple and easy. Did not want to spend much time in cooking. Also I remembered my husband told when he was in US on self cooking, he said all your recipes require grinding, as i dont have mixer/Grinder I cant cook those.. So here is something simple..
Ingredients
– 1 cup chopped onions
– 1 cup chopped tomato
– 1 cup chopped potatoes
– few curry leaves
– few garlic cloves ( optional )
– a pinch of turmeric
– one spoon sambaar powder
– one spoon salt
– 1 cup washed Tuvar Dal
– mustard seeds
– cumin seeds
– 3 spoon oil
– 1 serving spoon grated coconut ( optional )
Method of Preparation
Step – 2
Step – 3
Ready to Serve
Step – 1 Ingredients
Take a Pressure pan, first put oil and heat. add mustard seeds, let it splutter, then add cumin seeds, garlic cloves, curry leaves, pinch of turmeric, chopped onions one after the other. Then add chopped potatoes and fry a little. Now add tomatoes, salt, sambar powder, grated coconut, tuvar dal and add 2 big glass of water. Close the pressure cooker. If you cook on low flame one whistle is enough.
Now your sambar is ready to eat with rice, rotis and chapati.
Note all ingredients in picture are actual measures I took today.
