Fantasy park Mysore

GRS Fantasy park is an amusement cum water park in the heritage city of Mysore. Situated in the not so densely populated city, compared to Bangalore, GRS Fantasy park is a best place to enjoy your summer holiday with friends and family. You can click on the link to visit their website where you will find all details about the park and also buy tickets online. Mysore being my hometown I am always there during my summer holidays. And my daughter makes sure that we will take her to GRS Fantasy park even if it happens to be a short duration trip to Mysore. And nevertheless we too enjoy all the rides like kids.

Best thing would be to reach there by 11am. Take a pair of clothes to change after visiting all water games. You can either choose to go for water games first change the dress and then go for dry games, or go to dry games first and then for water games. You will not be allowed in dry games or rides if your dress is wet.

Everytime I go to GRS Fantasy park I am really amused to see old ladies in the age group of 60-70 trying all the rides with their family. I see some grand mothers happily enjoying the rides which I myself am not able to do.

Good thing is you have rides for all tolerance limit. If you want to adventure go for the high speed ones, if you just want to relax and enjoy take the ones which are not so scary. And dont miss the Dragon”s Den.

Important things

  1. This should be a whole day event, so don’t go there if you are having less than 3-4 hours
  2. Go with a company, don’t go alone, you wont enjoy much. Still you can enjoy if you become one among the crowd.
  3. You can take lockers on rent, you can take swim suite on rent.
  4. Enough number of clean wahrooms are available.
  5. Food is not great, still there are 2-3 restaurants inside.
  6. Dont go to the lazy river if you dont have much time. That should be the last option.
  7. check the timings in the pamphlet given at entrance and be at those places at the mentioned time to experience thrill.
  8. Separate ladies and children pool is there. This you can use if yours is only ladies gang. Else you go to common family water pools.

If you have visited GRS Fantasy park, let me know your favorite rides in comment please.

Yudh Review

amitabh in yudhI would say the serial Yudh in Sony was a masterpiece in comparison to all other serials that are coming these days. Story is not very much new, but the characters the placing of different incidents kept the episodes so thrilling.

Should we ever mention the acting skills of Amitabh Bhachchan. But great people never become great by luck, its the hard work. The same is seen in Yudh also, I could see Bachchan sir in all new avtar, I could feel the emotion, the stress, the anxiety, the pain everything the character Yudh would undergo. I even doubted whether I had to check my BP after every episode.

Zakir hussain as Anand has acted so well that, I would say his acting is at par with Big B. Hats off to Zakir Hussain for his brilliant acting. The way he walks, his gestures his every action showed his loyalty towards his friend Yudh and how he would transform to be a good father when he is at his home with his son.anand-zakir

Role of Anand’s son has also come well. Anand’s wife’s character has come so well. I have to find her name.

Though Sarika playing the role of Yudh’s first wife did not appear in much of the scenes, still she did make a difference.

Everyone has done justice to their role.

The credit should go to story writer, director and editor equally. Because there is so much of chaos in the story that without proper editing the whole serial would lose its identity.

So many new concepts are introduced. Guiding Dr.Taruni through online video and someone disconnecting the net, shows the reality that its too early to adopt technology for such serious situations.

Overall I thank Sony TV, Anurag Kashyap producer Ramesh for giving us such a good Entertaining psychological thriller.

Will TV become Obsolete?

With TV becoming boring day by day, because of unlimited ads and invisible programs the only medium of entertainment left to most of us is Internet. Not that internet is free from ads. But the only difference is you can skip some ads after few seconds, you can open another browser and keep doing something until this ad gets over. When the serial we are watching gets boring, we can just fast forward it. Thus now I have come to the conclusion that Internet specially YouTube is my favorite channel to watch movies and serials.

Thanks to YouTube I got long forgotten Japanese serial Oshin with English subtitles. I watched all episodes of Yudh in one or two weeks. And because we can watch it any time we want, I make sure to watch interesting serials like Yudh and Oshin with my husband while having dinner or after our daughter sleeps. So our daughter can never complain, even you watch TV!!

And YouTube has few interesting adds like the latest one ‘free charge’

What would I have done without Internet when my feet got fractured and am asked to take bed rest. Thanks to internet and YouTube again. Of course without Internet I would have finished reading some of the pending books, but you cannot do that lying down as holding book requires some energy!

So the laptop becomes radio when I wash utensils, It becomes my TV when I am cutting vegetables, it becomes my class room when I want to learn something new, It becomes my newspaper, it is my dictionary, its everything.

I do hope the Television industry realizes soon that they cannot fool people forever. Otherwise TV has to bid goodbye like the radio.

JK Mania

jk ashvinijk ashvini

Few months back when they started showing the preview of Ashwini Nakshatra in ETV Kannada, I never thought I would watch that serial. But recently while surfing through channels I came across this character called JK and stopped to watch his acting. He really has a new style and the director has really hit jackpot by introducing this guy. Small screen is too small for him, no wonder if he jumps to big screen soon.

All the best Karthik, great going. Keep it up.

Doondh Legi Manzil hamein – Starone

This is one good serial I have been watching from few weeks. So far its good. Good thing is the youth in this story are fighting against Social Evils. The evils are not glorified as it happens in all the serials these days.

Watch it.. before it gets in to the trap of so called mega serial… and intentional elongation of story!

Dialogue in the dark

Yesterday we visited Inorbit Shopping Mall in Hyderabad, and got the opportunity to undergo this experience called Dialogue in the dark!

Had we not participated in the promotional games at Level 4 in Inorbit, we would’t even have come to know about this great exhibition present at the Level 5 in Inorbit Mall.

It was scary, it was fun, it is a new experience. Once you participate in that, I am sure you will definitly try to walk in darkness when the power goes off, rather waiting for the power to come!

A Wednesday – Hindi Movie by Neeraj Pandey

It has been long since I went to any Auditorium or Theater to watch a movie, as my daughter would definitely dont let us idle at some place for more than 5 minutes forget 2 hours..

I just asked my husband, if there is any good movie in our collection, which I have not seen, he said, ya, you can watch Arundati.. Telugu.. I asked does it have subtitles, he said NO.. then I said, oh No then..

Then he said you can see A Wednesday.. as my daughter was sleeping I just watched it with headphone. well its too good. Characters are so Active, No songs.. Needless to comment on Anupam Kher, Nasiruddeen Shah ..they are at their best as always..and others are good too.

I dont want to tell more, If you are looking for some good Direction, Story which only wise people can write and understand.. this is the movie for you :-))

watch it and let me know your views..

It was long since I watched Hindi Serials. Those were good old days, when we used to see serials at 9pm

only and the second episode would come one week after that. Serials like Intezaar, Fouji, Buniyaad and

Jeevan Rekha. Then as I joined Engineering, more studies and browsing then work, then again post

graduation, by the time I was back in Bangalore we had enough Kannada Channels with good serials like

Mayamriga, Mukta, Silly lalli etc.. and never got attracted to Hindi Serials like KKSBKBT..

Now we shifted to Hyderabad and as of now no Kannada Channels in my cable providers list, and I dont

understand Telugu. I did not intentionally go for other service providers like Reliance Big TV, Sun Direct

etc, where I have the option to subscribe to Kannada channels, thinking I will learn Telugu, as I did learn

Hindi by watching DD1 in those days.. But now I have the option to watch Hindi and English channels so

naturally I shift from Telugu to these as here is something which I can understand.. and I ended up with

Colors and 9X

Colors stands apart from other channels with very few serials but good ones, more realistic and with a

message. Baalika vadhu which aims at educating people about nuisances of Child Marriage. Na aana is des

laado.. which shows the ugly face of Jamindaars or the monopoly of privileged rich people in villages,

Swarg which talks about family values, Utaran another fairly knit story. These serials are not like those

where you have MIL VS DIL or some wicked maama and story running around the same people. These

serials do have villains and all that, but with a different approach, here the vision is broader and does not

assume the viewers to be stupid.. as most serials do.. They have some gist in them.

hats off to the performance of Maasa and Anandi in Baalika vadhu.

How can I forget the ‘India has got Talent’..which has given opportunity for all common people and come

and show their talent. Though as of now none of the shows have happened in South, I am sure they will do

that.  Its not easy giving decisions sitting there. Good job by Shekar, Suman and Kiran ji.

But one thing I observed is in the half hour slot for a serial, the actual story, excluding the repetitions is only

13 minutes..all the rest goes in advertisements, coming up and repetition from previous episodes.
